How to Play

Minos of Crete shut the craftsman Daedalus and his son Icarus in a tower above Knossos. Daedalus gathered feathers, bound them with wax, and made two pairs of wings. Before they leapt he gave one warning: hold the middle path — high enough that the sea cannot reach you, low enough that the sun cannot.

Flight
Tap, click or press SpaceTap anywhere to beat your wings. Icarus always flies forward; you choose only how high. Esc pauses, M mutes all sound. The ❚❚ button pauses.
The Sun
Climb and the wax grows hot. Feathers singe, then fall away. Descend and the wings cool.
The Sea
Fly low and the spray soaks your feathers. Wet wings are heavy and your flaps weak. Climb and they dry.
Score
Distance is the bulk of it. The middle band pays forever; height pays more, but only while the wax holds. Skim a ruin for a near miss.

Icarus forgot. Drunk on the air he climbed toward the sun; the wax ran, the feathers fell, and the sea took him. See that you do not go the same way.
